Kim Delaney is an American actress who is best known as the character Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she received the Emmy Award. Her credits include All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney has a father who was an executive at the United Auto Workers who was also the mother of her children. Delaney has four older brothers. When she was a little girl, Delaney wanted to work as a reporter in the courtroom. But in highschool her modeling career began when she was able to model for commercials and after moving New York. In 1981, she appeared as a naive teen in the film All My Children. Delaney, a young actress who was in her 20s, appeared in a variety of TV films and dramas. Her career hasn't been successful or happy personal life. In the past, this accomplished actress battled addiction to alcohol, and was married twice only to that failed. In 2005, she was denied the custody of her son.
